This is an evolution proposal.
Even if in the full dark and unexplored, moving the cursor on a tile in the dark will display its properties. Moreover, we can use the priority overlay to identify where essential resources are located (like plants, geysers, ruins, etc.). With all of that, we can easily know which biome and resource is where, breaking the darkness concept. It would be more immersive (and trigger less temptation to cheat) to hide completely all information of that kind when not in the light.
