I personally think that this isn't an extension of Smorgasboard. This is more of a half-thought-out thing.
What made Smorgasboard good was the fact that you could change the weapons in a meaningful way- you could make an M4 a AR-10 or a auto shotgun or a sniper rifle. You can make anything anything (with some restrictions) while that isn't at all here.
