It's one thing to charge money on small mods that don't do much, another to put it behind a scummy practice that forces you to rebuy due to the nature of how their platform works (I'm looking at PureDark here). But neither of these are true.

paying people are getting drm-locked into joining steam group, getting no offline play and no ability to edit code to their needs (but muh jit bytecode aka "no cost optimization")
