saw there was no suggestions discussion so i guess its up to me to make one
ill go first
here are some hollow knight-related DEs
DFES:
infection explode (like from infected vengeflies)
player death
thorns of agony effect
spore shroom effect
DSES:
2 mask hit sound
death sound
hornet SHAW
dung defender DOMA DOMA
all of these would be funny as death effects, and i hope you add them!

A config applying the special effects to only a percentage of deaths
Possibly even configurable probabilities for all of the effects
