Is there any way to disable this as a client?

My friend has this mod and when he hosts, the effect applies to everyone else. I don't like it. Is there any way to disable this just for me?

I am currently working on a version that is only visible to a person who has the mod installed and/or enabled, with this current version there is no way to disable it showing up for everyone else.
