Small ship holding beam - exploded
Possible bug report, I"m not sure...

I was using the small ship holding beam on a small ship. I use it like a tug to move parts of dead ships into my grinding bay.

While the holding beam was locked to a mass block, the mass block hit a grinder and got ground down. All the sudden the holding beam block exploded and sent me and my small ship sailing off into the abyss.

The explosion was powerful enough to take out the grinding bay.

I have no clue I don't think it is the mod itself. I havent had an issue like that, from what I can tell nothing has been done to the landing gear code except the better grip. I have had a ship explode inside an astroid for apparent reason. I tried to replicate that, no success. Might just be a random thing let me know if anything else happens

Yea, so far that's the only issue I've had. Maybe it has something to do with Keen's landing gear code at the core of it? I've noticed that I got some odd torque forces when clamping a small ship with 4 gear (stock) to a large ship. However when I used your landing pads on the large ship (basically other way around), it was fine.

I'm not sure how many video's I need to make for Keen to take notice...

Sometimes maglocks can develope "explosive" powers. I had this occurance when two or more maglocks engaged on a moving lift. The wrong order to unlock caused the lift to explode through the shaft.

I guess a factor contributing here is the "unlimited" force setting of maglocks/landing gears. If you lower the force, damage may still occur but of course it shouldn't be so explosive anymore.

I've noticed a "phantom" rotation with more than 1 tractor beam "attached" to the same grid, but there is no rotation if you use just tractor beam...

This is the same if you use the stock landing gear, so I think it's something in the physics model maybe??

So for now, use 1 (and only 1) mag lock or landing gear per grid seems to be the trick.

This is caused by the code update Keen made to make small ships landing gear actually hold on under high torque situations.

Unfortunately, unless the target is a station (aka immovable) the torque of the 'pull' transfers into the target, and starts some oddball rotation I can't ever figure out.

sometimes when i use maglocks everything explodes and my ship is rubble
