Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Halo: Covenant Edition
Anyone else stuck because of poor objective framing?
The Pillar of Autumn was chaos enough, but at least some exploration could manage to do it. To be fair though, I have no idea how it ended since I wasn't even near the pods when it cut.

Then we get to Halo. Ok, fair enough, prevent the Cyborgs from landing. That at least was kinda clear, though I didn't get that part about exploding Pelicans. [Weren't they just despawning?] But, I did get through it.

Then we have Truth and Reconciliation... Defend the ship and prevent humans from going in.
How in hell? I'm at the human start of the map and we're destroying them. I can steal a shotgun and basically spawnkill all of their infinite spawning lazy bums. How long should I do this for? Sometime, I get Cortana that tells me they are trying to get one specific turret down. Ok then. I defend this thing. But either that I defend it, or climb on it... The result is the same. The noise from the turret becomes tiresome a long while before any signs of anything happening. One hour in and there is no progress from any side...

Is this a joke? How am I supposed to get to the next level? Ain't Assault on the Control Room used in the promotional pictures?

Is this a difficulty setting problem? As in, should I play it at a specific difficulty for the AIs to unstuck themselves? I was going for a quick easy run to test if this was worth playing in coi-op with friends, but if it doesn't work, the appeal of playing as a grunt fades fast.

Nevermind... The Author made a comment with the objectives... at least for the first few.
I didn't expected to have to end the same guy twice though.

Glitch_Hop the Malware : The Onyx Warrior, this was the first version of the mod. Jackal's Journey takes this to the next level and addresses these concerns. This is a small guide for beating the levels in the grunt mode:

Pillar of Autumn, the last marines by the Escape Pod
Halo, kill the three Cyborgs the Pelicans drop off
Truth and Reconciliation, kill Captain Keyes
Silent Cartographer, the final marines after the Pelican arrives

The end of Truth and Reconciliation crashed the game for me, had to restart. Resume started at Silent Cartographer and I could move on past the maw without a second crash.

To be fair, the whole mod kinda has an identity crisis between nap time fantasies of killing Keyes and being Master Chief... Or maybe we're chief in cryo secretly wishing to be a grunt? it's all rather obscure for that part.

Still... Now that I managed until there, the second part also puzzle me. Is there supposed to be an end to the Bloodgulch battle, or is it just infinite fun with your convenant of choice?

xunk16, this mod was originally for original Xbox years ago. It was my first mod, and it wasn't easy to get all ten campaigns to play on original Xbox. The main objective of this game is to explore, there were no real objectives planned originally. Bloodgulch (and the rest of them) are endless.

^^' Thanks for the confirmation. Still a nice job for the in-game storytelling in the first few levels considering how it must have been very wild for modders of that era! :MCCLEGENDARY:
