Big and Small - Framework
I don't have settlements.
Even without other mods, big and small, my planet spawns with only 1 settlement. That's it. Only 1 faction base for the entire planet. No errors. There are simply no factions or settlements.

I'd suggest verifying files, if this was common I'd be shouted at from everywhere right now. ^_^;;

Also, please provide logs when reporting bugs even if there aren't errors. :)

After deleting the frameworkwork mod, I started getting errors. Although I didn't have them before. I think I have an error in Rome itself.
Here is my journal. After re-supplying the mods, no new errors appeared.
And even on such a map without settlements, I can't start the game. The button just won't click.

I wonder how the hell the random gene release interacts with the disappearance of settlements.

Not sure about this exact case, but here is one way it _could_ 100% break it.

Faction leaders need to be Capable of Violence. This is a Ludeon rule.

If a mod forces a gene on them that makes them Incapable of Violence world generation will literally halt right there.

Not sure about this exact case, but here is one way it _could_ 100% break it.

If a mod forces a gene on them that makes them Incapable of Violence world generation will literally halt right there.
But he didn't break anything by himself. I think he tried to insert your genes but did it differently than you did, because of this the pawns broke and couldn't spawn.
now i have the same problem, but it only goes away after removing big and small mods from my modlist. its probably some incompability issue which i cant find... ive been trying to solve it for several hours and i cant seem to find an answer...

That is failing on the Rimworld Tickmanager somehow. I'm not sure that should really even be possible unless something is seriously broken. I'd suggest verifying files.

I'm not quite sure I follow whet you're saying.

I don't actually have any pacifism/incapable of violence genes-type genes in my mod, so I'm not sure how it relates to this mod.

It is most likely just the vanilla gene being applied on them, I think.
