Teardown

Mors Longa [NO LONGER UPDATED!]
Number of Enemies/Feedback
idk if its just the difficulty setting, or a necessity for performance reasons; but the quantity of enemies seems a little weird to me. For context I'm playing the mid tier normal difficulty, though I'm not aware if difficulty effects enemy spawn numbers.

Sometimes a small gas station will have 4-6 enemies and a roadblock may have 3-4 ,which is great. However every time I hit one of the large 'desert military outpost' type bases , there's normally only 1 or occasionally 2 enemies in the entire base. Not trying to be overly critical, but its kinda anti climatic when you commando sneak your way into this massive base during the dead of night, only to wander around and find it completely deserted aside from 1 unaware enemy to stumble across and execute from behind lol . Also I've never once come across enemies at the 'large' gas stations.... seems weird that the bigger more resource heavy locations would have less/zero threats, while the smaller locations have far more threats?

3 quick side notes in case the dev's read this

1.) any word on prevention for the lag spikes? (either user initiated fixes or plans for updates) imo they're just barely tolerable atm, but still pretty damn annoying and frequent.

2.) Can you access the second large gun you have equipped? if so how? i.e If I put one weapon in my 'sling' and one weapon on my back, only 1 shows up in the mouse scroll weapon selection (Pretty sure its the 'sling' weapon) meaning if I run out of ammo for one rifle mid fight, its a massive inventory faff to try and get my backup rifle into my hands. If this is an intentional feature and just meant to save inventory space, then my apologies.

3.) Save system. Can anyone clarify if you're actually meant to be able to save mid run? and if so, how does the system work? Quick saving and loading using the normal pause menu option works (most of the time) , but only if you haven't quit. After quitting the game, the continue option doesnt work; yet I've just now seen something from a dev saying that holding a combo of keys (on the main menu?) should restore your save... clear clarification on that would also be excellent.

All that being said, Mors Longa is a seriously impressive achievement and testament to the modders/dev's talent and the flexibility of Mr Gustafson's game engine. I take my hat off to everyone involved in making this despite my above sentiments. With a bit more tuning this is something I'd gladly pay for or will be sure to donate to, pending lag spike adjustment.

To answer your questions:

1) we cannot do anything on lag spikes at this moment, we have plans in the future to update the procgen to use a new system but that would require a lot of effort and also moving all the files in the mod to a different folder which would take weeks to even be finished. It would also require some extensive rewriting of certain codes and as well as model changes for large buildings. This change is essentially impossible at this time since we're dealing with fixing bugs and polishing what we have so far.

2)press 1 again, it access your 2nd large gun. The tutorial says something about this.

3) just press the combo of keys and you should be able to click the continue button. Some unknown issue is causing the button to change its state when it isnt supposed to and we don't know how to fix it at this time.

and as for the enemies, the reason this happens is due to performance.
If more than x amount of enemies spawn, then the next spawn (further from the player) will see less enemies. It does this until you either kill the enemies or get far enough for them to be deleted in which case the next spawn will have more enemies (if its a big or small base depends, your luck has to do with it)
