I have an idea what if you added a crafting station (or npc) where you used scrolls (you would get from either completing quests or defeat a certain boss), and rare stones to upgrade weapons.

master mode or for the worthy could have ex forms of the bosses (purple whispy woods)

maybe a kirby summon that follows you around and fights for you kinda like how the flower summon summons a ghost that fights it could be summoned from a star or friend heart like star allies
