Coop Respawn Issue

whenever my friend and i play, if one of us dies, we cant respawn. We either have ti revert to last checkpoint or restart the level by backing out. we've experienced this on AOTCR and Silent Cartographer so far

I've had this issue, no matter how far back we walk, or if we kill all the enemies on the area, the other player won't respawn, and even if we reach a checkpoint and the other player dies we can't respawn, also tried restarting to the last checkpoint and the nothing
