Idea for handwrap variation
Let's say you read a magazine about karate or something similar that has instructions on how to properly make and wrap your own hand-wraps and it makes a variation with more durability.

There are currently two variants, the plain wraps and the leather wraps. I however do like your idea of potentially learning how to make stuff potentially for an add-on mod.

I agree as well and I think the obvious next step up is a level 1 metalworking-made set of spiked knuckles made with 4 scrap metal and 10 nails (.5 - .8 damage, rest of the stats same as a kitchen knife, maybe ) and then a level 2-3 metalworking-made set of bladed knuckles (google wolverine knuckles) made from 8 metal scrap and 6 scalpels/kitchen knives/hunting knives (1 - 1.6 damage, rest of the stats same as hunting knife) that would both go into the short blade category. If possible, remove the one hit kill animation chance, since it actually would make the weapons worse if you get it while fighting multiple zombies, maybe just give them an increased critical chance/crit damage instead.

For the first one could be good, but that the spikes makes the attack recovery speed decreases, y'know, cause quiting out the fist of a skull could be a bit difficult in exchange for the damage bonus. Same for the wolvering gloves. And i propose some alternative more in the middle, simple fist wrap gauntlets with a sheet of metal attached to it, giving more damage in exchange of slow attack speed.
