Religions
There are 3 added religions in the mod, Disconnected Catholics (s_catholic), American Baptist (s_baptist) and Mormonism (mormon).

Once any state that is of the Disconnected Catholics faith and they discover Rome, they automatically convert to the game's default Catholic via an event, this was done so that when you start, you can not play with all the fun Curia things before you can actually perform diplomacy with the Papacy. The event when triggered will automatically convert all provinces owned to standard Catholic, but only in provinces owned by a state that is Catholic. This doesn't covert protestant or American Baptist states with Disconnected Catholic provinces as they're suppose to be using their missionaries to convert those provinces.

Protestantism is used in areas that are prodominately protestant. I haven't played tested the mod long enough to see if that effects the Reformation but I don't think it will as it can only fire in Europe.

I used Google to find a map of all the counties and census areas of Canada and the United States to distribute the religions based on which one had a pluralty. Which led to some surprises as I didn't realize that Catholicism is quite strong in the United States.

Catholicism isn't that strong in America but I believe it's due to the fact that they don't group Protestant's together and count each sect as it's own. America is deffinitly not that Catholic or at least I thought it wasn't that catholic seeing as how most who founded and came to this Nation were some form of Protestant.

That's true and that's a big reason why Catholicism has a large number of pluralities in counties of the United States, however it does have considerable strong zones, particuarly areas of large number of immigrants in the American Southwest.

It just seems unlikely that, that much of the country is Catholic :/

Well I had a choice when I as doing the religions, use the maps I found using Google that showed the most common religion by percentage (pluralty) or to make the entire mod all the same across the board by either making all the provinces protestant or leave them a catholic. I didn't think the latter was a good idea so I used the map on pluralty.

id like to suggest that if you force the disconnected catholics to change to catholics when they discover rome, the disconnected catholics modifiers should be worse then those of the normal catholics, or give us a choice into fallowing rome or not. personaly i hate lossing the disconnected catholics due to the normal catholic modifiers being so bad compaired to the protestants and the disconnected catholics.

A good point that I didn't think about. I'll change the event to give a choice on the matter.

Yeah I figured there were pockets and I looked it up for Maryland, due to me being from there, and I was surprised. Just almost all of the country is Catholic in the mod except for 1 or 2 Protestant's and the South with it's American Baptist. Was surprised is all.

The united states is more than 25% catholic and we catholics cover a large land mass as most of us are in the western states

The most southern Illinois region should be Baptist, as that is the case in real life.

Only 16% of Washington State is Catholic, while 49% is Protestant. I think it would be better not to go with pluralty and just group the Protestants branches with Protestant. And it would make alot more sense to have Protestantism all over the US, because not everyone in all those states is Catholic.

Where did you find that? Because I searched far and wide and found that Catholics make around 22% of the US population.

Nor are they all protestant. I grew up in an area that was almost completely Catholic, in Texas, I was actually surprised that wasn't the norm when I moved to the midwest. *the more you know* Having some variation here adds flavor to the mod I think.

I lived in Washington all my life, I know we all aren't Protstant. Nor did I say that, its more that I wish there wasn't so much religious unity in the mod.

How much of the country do Mormons take up? I think we take up around 2% of the population but I'm not quite sure. I do know that there are more of us than there are practicing Jews.
