How does "group link" work?
I tried using "group link", but it did not work like I thought it would.

The caster gained "group link" in his health tab, and there were lines drawn to the other pawns in range. I then tried casting "word of inspiration" on one of them, and only the target got inspired - I thought it would jump to the others too.

In case it was a mod conflict (I do use the inspiration tweaks mod) I tried spreading "word of trust" to multiple prisoners, but again only the direct target got affected (multiple prisoners in range, targetting one of them).

So, what am I doing wrong?

Based on the wording of group link, I * think * it only works on Word psycasts that add a hediff to the health tab (immunity, healing, protection, etc.). It then shares the hediff TEMPORARILLY with all other targets while they are in range.

Since inspiration (and alliance, trust, foresight, etc) don't add a hediff (they are instant effect), they wouldn't share anything.

Probably a case of unimplemented and/or poorly explained features. In it's current implementation, group link doesn't seem very useful.

I'm not sure what the exact limitations are, but I use Group Link to cast the following on groups:

  • Word of Pain (hostile)
  • Word of Fear (hostile)
  • Word of Protection (friendly)
  • Word of Healing (friendly)
  • Word of Immunity (friendly)
  • Word of Productivity (friendly)

I'm not sure if the number of pawns affected is limited by the casting pawn's psyfocus/heat or not.

This is an understandable conclusion, but is incorrect. The link itself is removed when the pawn moves out of range, but any effect that the pawn(s) received while linked remain.

I tried with "word of productivity", but could not get it to work.

Setup:
pawn A has group link, B has word of productivity, C and D are also in range.
pawn A casts group link. Once it is active, B casts word of productivity (tried targetting A and C/D)

but it is not shared. What am I doing wrong? Does pawn A have to be the one who casts the word too maybe?

Update: that was it. The word only gets shared if the one who cast group link is the one to also cast the word. Kind of annoying and not how I would read it from the description, but good to know.
