After the new update (Nov. 23), in the first run I played I had 2 Big Strikes and 1 Big Defend, I assume this is on purpose. But I also played with other mods as well (for example Downfall or Pan's Trinkets) when looking at the upgrade would cause a visual glitch, where the card would glitch between it's upgraded version and the big card version. Hope this helps.

Update: The Big Strikes and Defends slowly disappear and reappear over time, but every single card you grab, regardless of when or where it was grabbed, will be big in the next combat. All big cards now simply say "Doubled". I don't know if this was on purpose or not, Big Strikes now trigger Louse's ability on the first hit and hit the block on the second, so it's arguable whether it's better or worse.

Update Update: It's doesn't necessarily need to be the next combat, they just inconsistently become big and not between combats

Oh. That's my bad, I made a dumb mistake. I'll fix this shortly, thanks for reporting! I don't know how I didn't see this when testing
