After months of attempting to update the mod, I have good reason to assume that captioncompiler.exe is currently broken. I will reach out to Valve support to try and report this issue. It seems like captioncompiler.exe no longer functions correctly, at least it doesn't work for me.

Beware that subtitles that have italics in them may cause game crashes. The only one I know for certain that causes game crashes is Nick's C2M3 line: as well as one of Ellis' vomited on lines. I will be removing the italics on all lines in light of this. It seems the italics feature is extremely buggy and thus was never used by Valve as a result.

I have been trying to fix the mod's files for months now. Captioncompiler has failed to successfully create the .dat files necessary every single time. I will update it when I can successfully compile another .dat file.

EDIT [12/14/22]: Found the compiling issue. One of the commentary lines was preventing captioncompiler from properly converting it. Italics and the TLS commentary lines will be removed as a result.

EDIT [12/16/22]: Revised Subtitles 1.3 is released! This update features closed captions revisions should you choose to install it. Remember to read the patch notes for additional information.
Note: The closed captions are a separate file, so they do not automatically come with the subtitles if you do not wish to see the closed captions
