Yes, this is actually tested and is possible. There are 2 buttons that are used for a white panel for the portal gun. You should see a completely black panel that will turn around when using the first button at the starting point, and the 2nd button which is in the middle of the course. If anyone has any trouble finding a way to the lazer beam room, just let me know and I'll move it(most likely will happen).
