Pre-patch caused this setup to stop working. I promise I double checked my setup in-game and in the sub editor before posting this.

Ok thank you. I'll look at it asap. Do you know off hand what has failed?
Edit: I checked all of my files which are unchanged since publishing. As far as I can tell everything is functioning as before with the camera system, I can't immediately find any issue or anything that has changed from the update.

No sorry. I wanted to add the camera system onto the newest ship my and my friends got the berilia just before pre-patch. I was using the camera system on our previous ship just fine. I plopped down the assembly, configured the memory and Wifi-components just like I did before hand and nothing happened. After attempting to get it to work and failing, I then went switched back to our previous sub which still had the camera system installed and working before patch and that system failed as well. EDIT: Oh I was using the Switch-Click camera system btw.

Oh from the comments on the pre-patch announcement some people were saving weird things were happening on their saves after the update so I tried this out on a new save and it worked no issues. Unlucky for me but lucky for you! Looks like the system is ok after all.

Thanks for letting me know! I'm glad everything is working now. I don't anticipate any problems with any of my mods since they use only base components in the game. I feel your pain though - I like a lot of barotrauma updates but they always fry everything you were doing when they come. I decided to wait for release to play the campaign through again for that reason. ..Btw do you have any comment on some functionality you might like to see added to the cameras?

Truly? I can't think of anything which speaks to how well made your build is. I did start pondering how I would go about making an add-on to your system so along with the text display showing the camera #, there would also be a second display naming the location of the camera.

Say I made Camera #3 show the Engine room and Camera #4 shows the reactor. The top text display shows [Camera #3] and the bottom text display would show [Engine] or [Engine room]. Afterwords, when the player switches to the next camera it would update the displays accordingly which would be [Camera #4] & [Reactor]. Not too useful since going into the system would just show you the room but I love information of any kind.

Players could configure the system and at a glance know what room the cameras are currently aimed at. Though it would mean additional components per camera.

That's a nice idea, and I agree that more info is somewhat missing. I have a partial add on completed to address this that uses motion sensors with each camera to report if things are sighted on the camera into the radio chat. So you can know if there is something going on at a camera. You could even have it auto switch to the camera that is seeing the action. It can be very detailed, down to telling which crew members were there and if they did something. But like you said there are more components involved and I wanted to limit that as much as possible.

I have been working on another related mod that goes with this - I am calling it the 'ships log' - that basically keeps a time stamped written record of any information you want recorded (in the terminal currently), such as what the cameras see. Handy for very large ships or outposts where you don't know what is happening/happened. But I was getting crazy and adding all kinds of stuff like doors opening and guns firing and haven't got around to finishing and optimizing it.

At long last I have made the update you asked about. There is now a 'legend' that you can fill out to replace any camera numbers with room names or location names on the text display when you switch to that camera. Also, when you switch to a room it outputs the room name to wifi channel 1 as text, but only in a small area. So if you place the wifi output component near the periscope for the cameras, only the operator will get the text updates. That way the rest of the sub doesn't get spammed with location messages.
