This is an issue that is related to TW Rome 2 base game! It started a few months back and are most likely related to some windows update!!

If you are running Windows 11 then a possible fix is CPU affinity:

• 1. Open Task Manager
  
• 2. Details tab
  
• 3. Right click "Rome2.exe"
  
• 4. Set affinity
  
• 5. Select the cores up to 8 cores

You will need to do this EVERY TIME you start up TW Rome 2.

Interesting note: I'm running AMD and doesn't seem to have this issue - maybe only related to Intel CPUs?

Interesting note 2: Some are also claiming that this gives a performance boost!
