cardinals_l_english.yml
Line 2, the title in the college of cardinals was listed as the Supreme Pontiff

cardinals_pope: "Supreme Pontiff"

Line 6, the College of Cardinals has long been known as the Sacred College of Cardinals

cardinals_college: "Sacred College of Cardinals"

Line 22, show education skills (tooltip for electing cardinals and Popes):

cardinal_learning_bonus: "[learning_i][learning|E] ([Character.GetSkill('learning')|+0])"

traits -> Trinity_traits.txt
koh_cardinal traits not done correctly, as a health property, I propose to redo it

koh_cardinal = { index = 901 fame = yes learning = 2 birth = 0 random_creation = 0 same_faith_opinion = 10 advantage_against_coreligionists = 10 monthly_piety_gain_mult = 0.2 desc = { desc = cardinal_desc } }

* You have added a papal army as a vassal, but until the 15th century the Papacy did not have any personal army. I propose to remove this and develop the theme of spiritual knightly orders
* Forbid the Pope to give himself claims to the land for piety. This is cheating :)
* Too much influence of Italian culture on the election of cardinals, I think we can lower the modifiers and give others a chance
* Intrigue scheme for the Pope: You can add a scheme like "Depose an ungodly bishop" for piety. The condition is if the bishop has a level of piety - sinfulness
On a success, replace the bishop with another. On failure, seriously loss the relationship with the bishop and his overlord
* If the bishop does not have lands, then it is more logical to give him a fine when choosing him as a cardinal. He essentially has no real power, but is directly subordinate to the overlord
* In my opinion, sins should give more penalty than virtues when choosing a candidate for the Papacy or a cardinal
* Papabile must bear the title of Cardinal-dean to his name
* Add interaction to Papa with excommunicated characters - "Remove excommunication"
* Add decision to Papa - "Expand Сardinals Сollege". Adds place for a new cardinal. Must cost a lot of piety
* For the secular_power_bonus modifier, take into calculating the number of bishoprics under control and to a lesser extent the rank of overlord

Thanks for all of these ideas!

Yeah specifically the reason for the Papal Army was a stand-in for leaders of a Crusade, which used to be the Pope - but due to systematically how the College of Cardinals works, this would end the crusade *(Wars and Crusades only continue to Inherited Characters, with the college of cardinals the successors are elected/granted the titles - ending the wars)*, so by having this vassal the Crusades wouldn't end.

Currently I have them influenced by the Gonfalonier of the Church irl with it's first holder being Erlembaldo Cotta.

But the rest of these look really good and helpful!

Spiritual Knightly Orders is a very good idea but these 2 suggestions look a bit arbitrary:

In your opinion the Papal Army was not historically good but you want to penalize the influence of Italian Culture on the election of Cardinals ?!?

In real History (between the year 867 and the year 1453)
81 Popes (out of 102) were Italians...

I suggested only reducing the modifier, +200 is a lot, leaving no chance for other candidates. By tests, almost all landless Italian bishops are appointed. Optimal +100

Ok, I understand ;)

I did 3 tests, you can leave +200 for Italian culture, but you need to change the secular power modifier so that Italian bishops without real power and lands do not receive the status of a cardinal.

The level of piety should matter in the calculations of the piety modifier (cardinal_score_per_piety). It happens that a sinful bishop has accumulated a lot of piety, but in fact he is a sinner.

Excommunication interaction is too expensive for a Pope, for 10 changing Popes only 1 had 1000 prestige. Why does the Pope lose prestige? I propose to change the cost to 1000 piety and remove the loss of prestige. According to tests, 2-3 Popes had about 2200 prestige, I think for 1 life we excommunicate a couple of people, well balanced.

More personality for Papa :)

...also College of Monks would be a very interesting mod.
About the Grand Abbot election (who is historically independent in relation with the Pope).
I've seen "My Monastery" mod in the workshop, with the possibility to spawn monasteries on the map.
It would be nice one day to put forces together and create the mechanic of the Monastic Orders...or do you think Paradox will create an apposite DLC one day?
Kodeks 30 Jan, 2022 @ 4:24am
alegdansk, I think they as a game company would take too much risk with religious themed DLC so they haven't done it before and they won't do it now.

Another list of suggestions:
* Remove 100 piety if the requester was denied funding
* Remove 100 piety from the petitioner when refusing to excommunicate
* Remove 100 prestige from the Pope when removing excommunication
* If the Pope lifted the excommunication, apply an additional trait contrite to the target
* Definitely need other tasks for the Pope's advisers, the current ones are almost useless
* Consider additional character traits when choosing Cardinals or Pope. For example, physical traits, infamous traits, health traits, diseases
* The Pope's opinion of the candidate gives too big bonuses. In the future, it is better to work out the mechanics, at least as in CK2, when each cardinal chooses a specific candidate for the Pope, and a successor is chosen by a majority of votes.
* Remove the ability to apply decisions - host_feast_decision
Add new instead of feasts - Papal Audience (Similar to the mechanics of the feast, selects a random catholic country, calls all vassals to participate)
* Coronation by the Pope
* Baptism by the Pope

Do you think is it possible to make the mod compatible with Shattered World?
In shattered mod, starting the game in year 867 ,the one who should be the first Pope (Pope Nicolaus) appears as Cardinal Nicolaus and nobody is in the Pope's place...
