It's possible they added it to the game in the Lions of the North update and my changed file for Denmark disallows that
One minor problem provinces don't adapt in game if you start in 1444 so for example Rapa Nui has 15000 natives now, and it should drop down to 3500* then down to 2500* right before contact, I don't believe it adjusts unless you start after that time, so it will likely be 15000 when you discover it, a possible solution could be making it 2500, then jump up to 15000 a bit into the game to match the history, I will play around with this concept
EDIT I actually resolved this for Rapa Nui (it is 15000 if you start in 1445+), however the issue remains true for cultures like Icelandic Greenland & Vazimba Madagasca
