Client Installation
Basic instructions that should be followed by absolutely everyone installing this modlist.

  1. Click on "Subscribe to all" on each of the 9 linked collections and quickly check you are subscribed to each and every single mod in the collections before proceeding (there shouldn't be any green squares left next to the mods). Steam should now be downloading Wokshop content for Project Zomboid.

  2. When the downloads finish, run the game, go to the Mods menu and enable "Mod Manager", "Mod Manager: Server" and "Mod Manager: Enhanced Load Order". Click on "Back", let the main menu reload and then close the game.

  3. Apply the client mods preset:
    • Download my custom client mods preset[pastebin.com] and place it in C:\Users\You\Zomboid\Lua.
(If the Lua folder doesn't already exist inside the Zomboid folder, just create it).
    • Run the game and go to the Mods menu, click on
"Saved Presets: [--Select to load--]". That will display a dropdown menu where the preset you just downloaded will be available for activation. Select it and click on "Accept". Wait for the main menu to reload, then close the game.

  4. Apply the key bindings and mods' hotkeys:
Download my custom key bindings[pastebin.com] and place it in C:\Users\You\Zomboid\Lua.
This is my optimized file for controls. 99% of keybindings are mapped, I left some stuff like the emotes wheel unassigned since it's not really important. You can change anything up to your preferences.

  5. Apply the options settings:
Download my custom options settings[pastebin.com] and place it in C:\Users\You\Zomboid.
"Double-sized textures" option must always remain activated.

  6. Apply the sandbox settings preset:
    • Open File Explorer. On the left corner of the window, click on "View", then, on the upper right side of the deployed menu, tick the "File name extensions" box.
    • Download my custom sandbox settings preset[pastebin.com] and place it in C:\Users\You\Zomboid\Sandbox Presets.
    • Delete the final ".txt" on the file name. When Windows asks if you are sure, click "Yes". The file should end up looking like "fgnSortedZomboid_Sandbox.cfg".
    • When you are ready to play, run the game and go to...
      "Solo" > "Custom Sandbox" > "Next" > "World 2" >
*Select your spawnpoint* > "Saved Presets" > "fgnSortedZomboid"
      .
You can change anything up to your preferences.

"Optional" steps. Not hard requirements, but will greatly improve your experience.

  1. Allocate more RAM to your game client:
Download my custom ProjectZomboid64 bat[pastebin.com] and place it in steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid.

  2. Rearrange the HUD by simply dragging each component up to your preference.
