Add this mod to multiplayer
Lag is a big thing it makes people leave it makes them not want to play it ruins the gaming experience.

especially when running on multiplayer I cannot express how many times I died due to lag in multiplayer

so i ask when will they add multiplayer to this mod

My suggestion to this would be that if someone goes to the caves, everyone goes with him. That'd make servers lighter since only one instance of the game would be running instead of three. Maybe options such as votes iniciated by interectacting with a cave entrance would make the decision more democratic.

I don't write code, and I don't know how hard it would be, but shooting down ideas like the one in this post is pretty lame. If you have nothing to add sometimes it's best to not say nothing at all.

Best I can suggest is the cave above if you want caves and mods. Devs need to fix the game and optimize it more. I hope this mod dev helps me to give my friends the real cave experience

This mod is easy to adapt to multiplayer. Simply, pause the surface/caves server when nobody's on them, which is what I assumed this mod already does.
This would reduce caves lag but not eliminate it.

Also "It's physically impossible" just sounds ever so slightly hilarious to me. Would it quite literally break the laws of physics if this were to be adapted to suit multiplayer?

Yes, both physically and logically, it can never be multi player because it is only for single player.

You should take your frustrations to Klei instead of this generous Modder that has given us such an amazing mod, which I know for a fact took him a long time to implement.
(im a software engineer and modder myself. The things modders do, especially world generations, is hard.)

如果你想要在多人模式中降低操作延迟 可以进行如下设置:
DST开服:在steam饥荒联机版通用属性中的启动选项填写 -tick_rate 60
专用服务器开服:在存档的cluster.ini的[NETWORK]下增加一行 tick_rate = 60

说明:tick_rate表示每秒通信次数,越高体验越好,但是会增大服务负担 最高60(默认15)
服主设置后对服务器内所有玩家生效。其它玩家设置 服主不设置 是没有用的
