Just the espionage thing itself could be expanded. Like having the ability to manipulate the opinions of others and setting up two of your rivals against each other.
Maybe an event chain that is triggered from building your first mining station, or some interesting choices on how your empire would utilize some of the early game techs based on your governing ethics.
Stuff like that.
Maybe possible go even further and have it as an option. To either have different tones off so it just looks like cracks again, have it randomly selected or manually select it.
It's just something I wish Paradox themselves had added. One of the biggest disadvantages of the galactic setting is that it's just a flat plain with tiny dots. There aren't many geographical features like rivers, mountains, coastal shapes and so forth. So just making your empire more visually varied would help tremendously.
(I know I'm just unloading this. It's just things I wish I could find a mod for and I haven't been able to)
This should make beginning of the game more enjoyable and entertaining
My argument for this is that you’re empire in theory is not unite on the start of the game
