Call to Arms - Gates of Hell: Ostfront

Hotmod 1968
Where is T64?
This mod is the most detailed of all the mods I've seen. Over the past year I've seen the author make huge adjustments to the tech tree and some of the special mechanics in order to be more historically accurate, which is exciting. I really support and appreciate the author's selfless efforts, but I still want to make a small comment: we need more specialty vehicles or advanced tanks than infantry and light vehicles.
We all know that the first person mode is one of the main features of GOH, and I think that for a lot of players, including myself, being able to drive an armored vehicle is a major factor that keeps us playing. In HOTMOD, I think that factor is amplified even more by the vulnerability of infantry and the popularity of anti-tank weapons.
The first time I played this mod, I was impressed by the Soviet T64. Why did the author remove it? Was the T64 too powerful? Or does it just not fit in the timeline? I think the new four tanks will be more exciting than the four ammo carriers. I'd still like to be able to drive early third generation tanks from the sixties like the T64 and T64A. these new tanks don't need to be overly advanced, no explosive reactive armor and no artillery missiles would be fine. Comparatively, NATO could also include late models of the Leopard 1, or advanced tanks like the KPZ70. I think that would bring more fun to the mod!
Finally, thanks to the authors for their hard work.:steamthumbsup:

Hello, we are happy to hear that you enjoy our mod as well as the work and dedication that goes into making hotmod what it is. For the T-64 it was removed temporarily due to the tank not being "correct". Namely it was not the early production version of the T-64 but a mix of the T-64 and T-64A. We were not happy with it and so zverofaust has been modeling it from scratch, so it will take time to implement the vehicle back in the game. Additionally we will need to implement mechanics to emulate the composite armour as well as ERA later down the line. Currently we are focusing on adding a few more nations like Poland but we work on implementing more advanced MBT's in the background. For vehicles in general it depends as to when the vehicles were in service/ tested and based on that we add them or not in the mod. :steamhappy:

Hello, wouldn't it be easier if possible, to take the model of the T-64A from Warthunder files and port it over to your mod?

No, no and no. Firstly using models from other games like War Thunder would be stealing intelectual property, secondly even if we could use them the poly count of the model is way too high for a game like GoH. Lastly we like to have a standard where we either make the models or legally source them. Hope this answers your question :steamhappy:

I obviously agree about how it's illegal, I would just like to point out that the T-64 model for both the B and the BV variant is gorgeous I would love if you guys could recreate the look somewhat <3

We will eventually make it, but it will be a bit in the future. 🤠

Just wanted to mention that the mod 1992 a dying world uses the vehicle models from warthunder for the T-64A, B, and BV without a hitch and those files are available online for free ive ran across them many times.
