Hitching when building or destroying walls
I'm having a strange interaction with this mod and Map Designer. When I build or deconstruct a wall, the game freezes for a moment. Only walls. Only these two mods.

This doesn't happen with only Lights Out or Map Designer, but with both, and only both (+harmony and hugslib), the freezing occurs.

Removing only LightsOut from my modlist solved the problem. Removing Map Designer, but leaving LightsOut installed AFTER the map was created did not fix it.

Visual Exceptions doesn't produce anything. Performance analyzer sees the hitching, but can't pin it down to anything more beyond core game logic, every graph hitches at the same time. The core debug log also sees nothing.

The issue happens even without any flickable objects on the map (dev quicktests and fully generated saves, with original seeds and modified seeds from Map Designer).

I think this is the same as the last two discussions started recently. Certainly several reports of this (so you’re not alone), but I won’t have time to investigate for several days.

I suspect there was a change with 1.6 or a recent update that isn’t playing well and causes a lot of logic to rerun unnecessarily, but I don’t have a lot of leads at the moment.

If there's any further logging or testing I can provide from my setup, or a video/etc, I can do that.

Narrowing it down to Map Designer may have been a chance problem as I don't see how these two mods interact whatsoever, however my binary search and eliminate of my modlist (~80) resulted in Lights Out and Map Designer both being active as the only case where it occurred.

Removing Map Designer but leaving in Lights Out along with the other mods made it run fine. I just don't get the correlation.

This sounds exactly like the hitching I experience in another discussion.

The hitching still occurs with only LightsOut, but it's miniscule that you don't really notice unless you're looking for it.

The more mods you add the more the worse it gets and the longer the culprit functions take to execute.

Check the Harmony Patches in perf analyzer, specifically look for the "Max execution time" column in perf analyzer.

EDIT: I wasn't seeing this hitching last week, I found it odd it was suddenly occuring, so likely a RimWorld update?

Sometimes it wouldn't hitch, other times it would. I ended up restarting my game over and over until it wouldn't. In my dev quicktests, even without rebooting, sometimes it would and sometimes it wouldn't.
