Ahhh gotcha, well I don't think it necessarily needs to be removed. Maybe it could be fun to have it as an even more primitive alternative to patchlether, wherein you can take hides to a workbench and process them directly into rawhide if you don't have tanning ( Maybe down the defensive stats even further in the process ) seems like an opportunity for some neat new gameplay is all, especially for survival situations say in cold weather climates.

But the problem is that there is already patchleather iirc which has the same use as rawhide

I just meant that the concepts of patchleather and rawhide are different in reality. Like rawhide is untanned leather whereas patchleather is mismatched tanned leather pieces stitched up. Just an idea anyway, I think they could both exist as distinct things is all. I might mod it in myself ( Or commission it ) as an unofficial addon anyway if it's not what you're feelin is worth it.
