How To Make The Mod Work in 1.50+
This manual was originaly posted by the Steamuser Frankkieke in the comments 4th June 2024. This post was made to keep this tutorial up to the top.

!!! THIS TUTORIAL WORKS !!!
I have tested it on my own and it is very simple! Done all 3 files in less than 5 minutes without having done anything like this before.

Before you start you will need the SII-Decrypt-Tool:

Just download, place in the folder with the SII-File you want to edit and drag the SII-file onto the Decrypt-Tool. After that you can open the SII-file with a texteditor like notepad++.


Now just follow the steps below to modify the mod "Advanced Customization":

1.) Navigate to:
Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\227300

2.) Find the folder with the following name:
2528348949

3.) Change the file named "version.sii" to (with sii_decrypt - notepad++) :

SiiNunit
{
package_version_info : .universal
{
package_name: "universal"
}}

4.) Change rar/zip file name to:

"universal"

5.) Copy this rar/zip file to:
documents/euro truck simulator2/mods

6.) Activate in ingame mod manager.


7.) To adjust the mod-add-ons "RenaultT" and "DAF" just do the same as above! You will find the mod folders inside the folder named "227300" (directory Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\227300).

!Attention!
Change the names in SII-file and the rar/zip-file for the add-ons a little different to the main-mod-files. Instead off "unversal" use:
- "universala" (for Renault Add-On)
- "universalb" (for DAF Add-On)


If you use the Mod(-Add-Ons) "Advanced Trailer Costumization ..." you can move on the same way and use names as "universalc" and so on.


You can now use the mods again.

Folder names/numbers:
2528348949 - main truck mod
2812630342 - add-on renault dlc
2857528670 - add-on daf dlc

I noticed that you dont need to change version sii.
Just rename rar/zip and copy to ets2-documents-mod folder. :crtcool:

This method does work, BUT it can cause crashes with V1.54! Especialy the gane crashes at IVECO-dealer or -parts of new S-Way. I tried that yesterday. At the moment I am using my old version of this mod (from 2023) which I made that time using this method. It is stable but all the newer Trucks are missing in the mods truck choice menu and newer trucks I buy ingame do not have the needed slot on the couple. But at least this way I can modify older truck models and all DAF are normal again.

I tried for over 3-4 hours trying to get it to work, it just refused to boot into a save game & crashed every time, what exactly did you update the version.sii too? I tried looking at the version.sii of mods that do work and even then it just crashed...

version must be set to „universal“. not a specific version as for example 1.54.2 or stuff like this. just as shown above in the tutorial

For those who want to create easy and nice save-edited trucks, try the program ALM. It works for ETS2 AND ATS. Just watch one or two video tutorials or look for someone already using it. It‘s not as easy as this mod, but still easy enough to learn it in 1 or two hours - AND: you can edit every truck, every part. You also can double parts like lights or add a second bumper! For any help join the ALM-Discord listed on the ALM-Homepage!

Give it a try! Its worth it!
