Euros automatically playing and making me watch the game with no option to "quit"

Just completed a season with this update with a premier league team. When the Euros are taking place, why does it start loading the England game and I am a spectator without choosing this option? How can I fix this or can the "author" please look into this.

Doesn't sound like a problem caused by the update. Better to ask people from SI on the official SI forum.
