Hey, sorry this is so late. I'm aware of the issue, but attempts to find the source of the problem have yielded confusing results.

The crashes never appear on my 7 year old desktop, but are common on my new laptop, they don't seem to ever happen on the Wedge Island map, etc.

One thing I've noticed is that if it's just left alone when the black screen appears, the map often loads after a few minutes.
