There hasn't been an update for 15 months

it's still perfectly alive, just going as fast as the big projects and a purely community-driven submission system can go (that is to the say, not very).

Still actively worked on but they just haven't done any updates. Either due to not enough worth updating for or quality control. Like they did a UI overhaul in the pack that was cut due to quality issues.

People pretty regularly submit sprites. Only like a handful of them have been added though. You can see the current progress on the discord. Changelog is added and they have a maintained list of the work that still needs to be done.

Edit: Just saw that apparently there is UI stuff being included in the next release
