Thank you for the useful comment regarding how to freeze the particles

You actually can't though. All you need to do, however, is keep it playing and take a bunch of screenshots, and post the best one. Either that, or set them to repeat quickly so they never disappear (But sometimes that won't work and look horrible so just use the first method)

Actually, I have found that if you download and enable a slow motion mod, the effects slow down with it, allowing you to time the perfect shot.
