This is just a fun little article about a variety of facts or interesting things that occurred in development of the Anointed, sorted in no particular order:

- From the earliest alpha build to release, the Anointed has gone through 162 build revisions or updates (not counting updates after release).

- Early on in development, the Anointed was going to be a very different hero that instead specialised in healing marked heroes for a large amount of HP and then clearing the mark. However, this was scrapped due to a surprisingly large amount of balance, design, and coding issues.

- Adding on from the last point, the Anointed was also going to be very similar to the Seraph in that he would do a large amount of damage to marked targets, and then clear the mark. This was scrapped in favour of being a "reverse marker" as it that is a much more original idea.

- Originally, Sacred Blade was usable in positions 1,2,3, AND 4. As for why this is, I can’t remember myself.

- Development for the Anointed started in early September 2020, and finished around midway into January 2021 for a total of 5 grueling months in development.

- Many of the Anointed’s trinkets were planned to be different. His CoM was originally intended to be similar to the Vestal’s CoM, but was scrapped after a more original idea was found.

- In old concept art, the Anointed was designed to have much whiter plumage, but this was scrapped after it was found to clash with the art style of the game too much.
