Why Tho?
I don't know why this exists, precisely - I get that Gold is helpful, but is it really so much of a game changer that people need this?

My refutation is "Why not?". Large sum of starting gold means that you can thin your deck early on (remove at shop), upgrade cards and buy artifacts and what not. It is one of the easy methods to feel overpowered and this can be fun for some gamers (although it maybe the exact opposite for others).

This mod does prevent your game progression since it changes one of the core mechanics of the game.

I will say that infinite money is generally one of the things that is the best way to "cheat without really cheating" in many games. After all, it just means you can max out your inventory of anything you can actually use money to GET in such a game. In a city sim, you can build whatever city you want. Doesn't mean you won't have the challenge of actually making the city as GOOD as you want. Just cause you can max out your potions and hi-potions and ethers doesn't mean you can't still have a game over.

Unless the game is outright won by getting enough money, then money is generally a basic, low-level, but also fun cheat to use. It doesn't break things, but it gives you a boost of varying levels, and you can combine it with something else for an interesting variant or even challenge (since we are using an RPG as an example, trying to get through with infinite money while being as underleveled as you can get away with).
