i suggest commands for the command console to get rid of certain effects if they dont already exist for example the blood in the water

I suppose I can add a menu for this mod which allows better control over the effects. Won't be an immediate uptaking, though.

If you saw my comment on the other page sorry i meant to post it here. But I wanted to suggest those cool light patterns you see on the bottom of pools and oceans. I think that would look cool.

poop in the water pls.
Hm, maybe a configurable underwater fog/DoF effect?
Sidenote, I also noticed the underwater volumetrics and those are hella nice, good call.

God rays from the sun would be nice looking
i suggest that everytime you put something that can get wet under water it changes materials

WHAT THE HELL
built-in water physics would be great
Configurable water dripping would be nice.
Could you create a download link for all the particles and textures? Or would you prefer if people didn't modify your particles cause I was hoping I could port these to Black Mesa and credit you.

I don't believe Black Mesa utilized the same water sprites as I do here. Nor does particle refraction work the same way.

new worksop item for dripping particles only pls
What about a setting to toggle drowning on/off in water entities, as well as generally more customization. For example, a slider to fine-tune the refraction effect or a boolean option to disable prop particle effects for performance, etc.

I opted to avoid drowning systems because including such a thing would run the risk of interfering with other people's already in-place systems. There's other addons on the workshop which can already handle that. (And nowadays also including the built-in HEV functions in Garry's Mod)

The refraction of water particles really wouldn't benefit from being able to control them at all. They have to use negative values to create the true water-like effect which doesn't have much variance to look good with.

The particles already limit themselves relative to the current framerate. If someone's framerate is low, the particles will also limit how many can be spawned. If there's seriously detrimental performance impact from the particles in this mod, it's definitely time for an upgrade to your CPU (handles most of the particle related stuff in Source). I'm running a CPU from 2013 and do not encounter these problems. The only exception to this is anyone trying to run a game on an intel integrated graphics processing driver (AKA Intel HD), which notortiously sucks at rendering distortion effects in source.
