The most likely cause of this the way the mod is loaded from a save. The game is not keen on mods being used for some reason and will not always load all the parts of a mod when a save is loaded from the main menu. To counter this, before loading a save, go to start a new career mode until after the loading steam workshop screen comes up. This allows the mod to load properly in your game, and from there you can go back to the main menu and load your save game without issue.

I think I found the problem causing that. Check if the new season has changes in the calendar. Then, before loading the game, change the locations inside championship.txt, to reflect the new season calendar. Worked for me. Tested in 2 different seasons that GPs were added or changed through political vote and when I changed the championship.txt file, the game continued normally.

@Gravecrawler - Thanks for investigating and letting me know. Is this something you checked before the end of the current season, or check and fixed, then reloaded and it worked? If this is the case, it does seem to be related to the mod not loading properly when players press continue career from the main menu. Seems the game only uses the files in the Resource Assets file and not the ones that are linked to the Steam workshop, meaning there are inconsistencies that cause the game to crash.

Check and fixed and then reloaded and worked! It was crashing at the start of the 2nd season because of a circuit change. I changed the championship.txt, load the game again and worked fine!

What to do because I switched the last 2 lines but it didn't work. I've started a new career and it has launched, but the one where I have the problem has not changed. Thank you in advance for your help.

The location of the file is given a little earlier in the conversation. After that I still don't know what to change in the file so that it solves the problem. I'm waiting for Gravecrawler's answer since he managed to solve the problem.
