Do moving ships somehow get a buff against ASM? because AI russia is sailing a WW2 era gun cruiser up and down my coastline, and I have a constant stream of attack aircraft peppering that thing with missiles, without even scratching the paint.

yes better use anti ship missiles

correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't make that the Naval Airbases (and to some extent carriers and the tactical airbases) kind of a useless investion early on? that is, until you researched far enough that your attack aircraft and ASW aircraft can carry anti ship missiles. it takes 35 minutes at 100% research speed to get to that point though.

you can always use them to escort your cruiser/battleships early on to shield them for enemy fighters

Is there a tech that lets carrier aircraft use heavier nuclear weapons? I'm not super sure on the correct use of CV groups right now. They seem to only be good at sinking other ships and some limited land attack if you have spent the time researching the air to surface weapons.

Speaking of which, what is the actual difference between going for bombs or going for missiles? Is it even worth going for either instead of just investing in cruise missiles and only using strategic airbases?

Would you consider something like the A-3 Skywarrior, AJ Savage, or the A-5 Vigilante as heavy carrier aircraft?

the fighters can use later tech cruise missiles
both of them are released in greater numbers so the enemy air defenses will probably be saturated but they will be more usefull when i finish the land units aspect of the mod

I do want to preface this by saying I love this mod! Thank you for your efforts!

I feel though that the current singleplayer gameplay (and the AIs in general) make things feel very rushed. I think the timing on the techs and buildings is good, but maybe calm the AI down a little bit, because as it is it seems like the only really viable strategy is to rush ICBMs and start slinging them as fast as you can.

I have no idea how possible this would be, but implementing a system of phases similar to DEFCON would be neat. For example, start out with conventional war, escalate to tactical nukes, then permit strikes against military targets before finally allowing unrestricted nuking of civilians. Is it possible to expand on the functionality of the 'peacetime/no nukes' sliders like that?

I feel like the ICBMs flying should be the culmination of the endgame rather than the default go-to strategy. I may be alone on that though.

How on earth can you tell that its performing like a WW2 Cruiser? From the icon/model?

Post-WWII ships have their guns removed. It's all missile spam from that point :P

The AI just doesn't seem to catch up with my tech. they are way too passive and weak. they never attack while i spam sci and rush techs. they never use ground forces. better delete that for single player mod...
