Of course you already know that I LOVE this asset as do many many many others.

I just wanted to note my experience with attempting your advice for the Metro Station to be optional.

YES! It works for the renaming to close the entrances (always a genius thing your re-naming effects).
-I loved this feature in the 4-lane with center Tram Tracks 'Grass to Platform' trick

NO! I cannot LOAD the asset without having "Metro - Underground Station Track #01" subscribed! [ It creates a (failed) in LSM! ].
-At first I thought maybe since I did using "resume". (just for testing)
-Then I load with subscribed to the Tracks #01
-It is okay.
-Next I try to use disable under content manager; for some reason Metro Station is still there and I could connect to Vanilla tracks. (I thought station should be disapeared).

It would seem not possible to LOAD without (all) dependency.
