Book Reading become a work type
I think this would be more useful if the reading of the books can be scheduled like work. under construction or cooking work tab. example if you use fluffy work tab then you can schedule the reading of a book under each of the different work types.

I rarely see my pawns use the books.

I guess the more your pawns have a way to have recreation, the less they will use one type. Reduce the recreation type in your colony and it might increase the chance for your pawns to read a book. It can't be a work type. Because its for recreation. Its like asking to allow smoking smokeleaf to be a worktype aswell

that sounds kinda awesome to me lol. Appreciate the response. I did see more usage by providing more recreation, I guess I wanted the ability to read only construction, or crafting.

btw, idea is still good, because we have childrens or newly recruited pawns. lowering recreation variety is not a good deal, pawns just go cloudwatching, praying and etc .. obviously they don't want to be smart :steamfacepalm:

OK, what if the worktype is called "Study" instead? Seems "realistic", right? New member of the colony is inexperienced, so you invest in their education in various ways. Especially when they come in with passions but low skill values.

How about making books an activity on par with meditation? - Something you can scheduele and then the work priorities could reflect in what order they should read books, and reading a book could be "soft capped" at 4k exp so they change book according to work priority once they reach the 4k xp cap, unless no other book available or no other work type is active, in which case they'll just keep reading the same book.
