TL;DR B41 can give you bad errors commonly with Mod Options and the STALKER Armor Pack, even though the issue is actually caused by another mod.
In my case, I tried to change my client-side file to case match the server's, but that didn't work. The fix was relatively easy for me: since the server was fully vanilla, I unloaded all mods and was able to join okay. I don't have enough technical knowledge to figure out what the actual cause is, but I hope this could help someone
