Compatibility and Weapons
Something I've been wondering: WHAT THE HELL is ValvE doing about Workshop weapons?! Now that there's just Cosmetics, the way I see it, they've streamlined the TF2 Workshop system: popular Cosmetics get in, unpopular Cosmetics and ANY weapons DON'T.
This is an awesome weapon, but at this point, it's practically GUARANTEED to not get in, because Gold Star Compatability DOESN'T extend to weapons, even reskins. In fact, just the plain fact that there IS a weapon in this collection may have DOOMED the whole thing (I've seen it happen).
Anyone have any clue what the TF2 Team is doing here?

Uh, no. The TF2 Team controls EVERY aspect of implementation.

Workshop contributors make only the models, Valve is the one that actually balances the weapon.

Thanks. But that still leaves me with no actual ideas.

There are only 6 or so people working on tf2 now. It's much easier to add a cosmetic that a weapon that people might not even use.

That's...not true at all.
The reason workshop weapons don't get added is because the item implementation tool (Brought around in Robotic Boogaloo) ONLY works for cosmetics, not weapons. Valve needs to make the tool work for weapons before they can add any.

Well, when Valve adds a weapon, they have to make sure it's balanced. REALLY balanced.

Not really. As long as it isn't OP, then everyone is fine with it (like how the diamondback and short circuit were until the recent buff). If they add an OP weapon, hten it will likey only be OP for a little while before it's balanced. If an underpowered weapon is added though, it can be a while before it gets properly balanced.

They aren't adding any weapons simply becuase they have enough weapons in the game that are unbalenced as it is. Thats why the past few updates they have been going back and fixing all the unused weapons. Probably when the are done or atleast close to done balencing all the weapons so they are equally used, they will start adding more. Hopefully.

They won't add any weapons until they've balanced all the already existing weapons out completely.

I beleive that was before the "Gold Star" system.
