Bug report - Veterancy and more
Please post your reports in this thread. Please make sure this is really related to this mod and is not standard behavior. Also include informations where that bug happened, during a Skirmish or Campaign mission, did you load an old savegame or started a fresh game. What were the difficult setting? Did you used a custom map and if so does the bug also happen on vanilla maps?

So games crash with EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION each time i try to start mission.

My first guess would be that it is your system because it seems to work fine for many ppl, also please be more specific. Does it crash on a certain mission or all you have tried? Was it a custom mission or official?

Please let Steam verify your game file. Unsub and resub the mod. Disable other mods that are not required, especially other DLL mods.
It happens when I try to start any campaign mission. No matter how select mission, load save game, new game. I already try to verified files and resub to this mod, no luck. Missions loads only if I disable mod or unsub it.
And I don't have any other mod, only veterancy and ra assets.

My mod is build with modern compiler and uses stuff from the std library, I'm no expert in C++ so idk if it requires that the user must have the newest VC Redist but you could try that out. You can find the newest version either in your Steam install folder like:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2022
or you can download it from ms website[learn.microsoft.com].
Install the x86 version.

Does this mod fix the sandbag exploit? I finally got to GDI mission 11 and needed to use it and it doesn't seem to work anymore? If it does, how can I re-enable it?

Yes, certain vehicles can crush sandbags in the mod, it is enabled in the veterancy_rules.ini. Additional there is an option which (when enabled) prevents that you can disable the AI by simply blocking a base cell. You can disable it via your rules_mod.ini.

I'm playing on Linux Bazzite, on a steam deck in desktop mode. I tried twice with only this mod and RA assets active on medium difficulty - didn't work. Then without mods and won.
Everything else about the mod seems to work thou I think. Didn't try building upgrading yet.

The Remaster does not official supports Linux and I don't have a Linux system so I can't give you any support here. If I can reproduce the bug on my Win11 system I'll fix it but as I said I already played the mission multiple times with no errors.

I'm not sure whether or not this counts as a bug of this mod, since it's an issue with a new unit I introduced - apologies if this belongs elsewhere.

I designed a unit (the "AAPC") that is basically an APC with the anti-air turret from RA[i.imgur.com], and for some reason it won't allow targeting specific air units in the way the MSAM vehicle or the SAM site will. It will passively engage aircraft that are near, but cannot be commanded to target them specifically. Like the standard APC, it can carry units (2) that can fire out, and can be commanded to target ground units like the APC, even when not carrying anyone.

Since the AAPC's turret cannot attack ground units, it will just uselessly point in said enemy unit's direction until something else kills the enemy - such as the AAPC's own occupants if it has any - and will not passively switch to a valid air target until that ground target either dies or otherwise loses the AAPC's aggro. I tried removing the OpenTopped function from the vehicle but this did not change its behavior.

I doubt the AI can passively prioritize air targets when both air and ground enemies are in range, but I'd want to at least be able to actively switch to an air target if commanded directly to do so.

Note: the turret image used is edited from the remastered RA "AGUN" building; I had to remove the square base from all 32 frames which took a long time, and then I just lazily replaced the frames in the RA-Assets mod directly (for now), which is why TurretImage=RAAGUN and not something custom.

Thanks, there is a bug with AAO weapons that prevents manually targeting aircrafts. I'll fix that with the next update.

I found undefined behavior[en.cppreference.com] in the trigger code maybe that was causing the problem on Linux, I fixed that in v44 but since I don't have a Linux system Idk if that fixed the problem you have.

@Stygian Emperor New version is online, manual targeting should work now.
