I'm having the same issue. World generation stops at "embedding metals" and I have to force quit the game.

this didn't fix my attempts to start up a new minibase world.

Ditto. Loading the old version doesn't work.

This is because ONI has received an update, which pushed the old version of the game from the Fast Friends to the Sweet Dreams. (Might be vice versa, memory is a tad hazy on which branch is which.) Until the mod author gets around to updating Mini-Base, which they've stated is a low priority, we're stuck with this issue.
