my suggestions:

1. i think you should lower the tempests fleet power a little bit, me and my friend opened the l gate during early game (2230) the tempest sent multiple 200k fleets towards us, this was a problem as we currently only had 15k fleets, we got destroyed in an instant.

2. there is a galactic council resolution called "Focus Gray Tempest", it would be cool if this was made a lot more important and taken more seriously in the galaxy, maybe even by a xenophile fallen empire or something :)

3. in federations you get a new policy called Diplomatic Stance, it adds a few diplomatic stances, it would be really cool to see a new one for the fortunate owners of a nanite mothership or just like 1k nanites or something, this Diplomatic Stance would give you good diplomatic wieght based on fleet power and economy

1. Yes I've already lowered the power. It scales now between 40k - 150k depending on the crisis factor (and some other) and on the end-game probably 500k :-o
2. Good idea, you mean building a federation like the War in Heaven? I think about it.
3. Hm* I must first dig deeper into this Federations :P

Guarantee that the nanite resource spawns by making that trinary system have a specific planet spawn with at least one planet with a nanite resource.

@Ragnarok: I've raised this (and also for a special planet to always). But anyway, only after defeating the Dessanu, they planets give free the Nanites. @"I don't see any changes made" Because I update sometimes one day later on Git and yet only here!? :-P

That would be indeed very unlucky, I've tested today, after defeating the Dessanu nearly every planet spawning nanite. So yes, my patch works only before defeating the Dessanu.

EDIT: Had an idea: Gain the ability to create your own L-Drakes. Either that, or reach out to the Gigastructural Engineering people and figure out how to make your own nanite-themed megastructure.

A thought:
Change up the various L-Gate Insight-granting events to give you more nanites, so that if you do some of them you end up with enough Nanites to build your own L-Gate (sometimes it's hard to get to one ok).

Either that, or let you complete the project if, say, a Federation member has an L-Gate in their territory. Maybe make it so that you have to pay in influence for someone to be willing to let you try that?

nanite warforms as armies would be cool, like the cybrex warform but stronger

I believe that L-Gates should be much quicker to build as they require a black hole to be built around-makes a neat alternative option for gateways

@fireprince, i do like this mod and makes the grey tempest more challenging with proper rewards of nanite tech, however this is where i found some issues. all nanite weapons and ships have really high nanite upkeep, which makes it hard to use them in any real force as you can only get 7-8 deposits in the L-Cluster. e.g one nanite foundry cost 5 upkeep, one mothership cost between 4-5, outfitting with nanite titan lance or missiles ect ect costs like 1-2 combined per ship.
maybe scrap the upkeep of weapon, modules & buildings and lower upkeep for ships so you can actually build more than one.
if im wrong and you can get access to more nanite deposits somewhere please let know but i couldn't find an alternative supply

You should be able to build nanite foundries that turn minerals into nanites. This should make the upkeep a non-issue once you have enough.

i was thinking that a nanite foundry or some other planet based building was in this mod but i didnt seem to get the tech. how do you come by this tech / building
