Climate Change
I had the very unpleasant surprise of the ckimate change in 1315. I was at +1800 food and i dropped at -1100 (and it keeps decreased).

My armies lost half of the troops and i don't know how to manage this calamity.

Didi you know how much time it will last? And how do you manage to keep your armies in good health?

It was the historical famine of 1315-17. It ended in 1318 for me, but all province fertility was reduced by one afterwards.
I just disabled taxes from my most hungry provinces to keep my total food from going red. That saved my armies, but cut my revenues by 2/3 for that time...
Kudos to the team. I found it pretty immersive :)

but it says on wikipedia the region affected, and so the Byzantine empire was not, yet in-game as Nicea I got hit just as hard >:|
