Warframe

SUPREMA - Heavy Blade
Looks absolutely great but remove the wearing on the blade edges?
I really like how the weapon has a lot more detail now than it did previously but I kinda like it much more clean looking like the previous one, like how your insidia sword skin really looks clean, I like it more that way...

Thanks and good luck with the next round of Tennogen!

Wear and tear gives a lot more personality to a sword, as with all other imperfections, I personally think it looks great as is, you will likely not even see the wear on it in-game since you'll be too busy using it to notice.

I also would prefer it with a cleaner finish.
A worn sword looks just poorly maintained in my opinion, so works well with grineer etc, but I can appreciate that other prefer it look worn on Tenno themed gear.

I do love how the sword looks but I would stick to a cleaner sword. Let's be honest, there are a lot of clean swords in tennogen so a scuffed sword would be good, just not my thing.

A great end product and I wish you the best of luck Hitsu San!

I would be fine with the wear if it was recolourable. From looking at the screenshots, it isn't. If the blade's metal is red or green, it shouldn't have white wearing. It's a fantastic skin either way though.

I also share the opinion that I like my blades clean but I do understand the appeal to those that prefer the blades looking worn out from thousands of years of battles.

TBH, worn or not, I'm gonna buy this skin as soon as it gets into the game. I mean, there's no way that this isn't gonna get put in in a future update.

I love this model, but I personally prefer a clean look as well. Wear and tear make items look poorly-maintained and of low quality, which is consistent with Grineer and maybe Ostron tools. This item looks closer to a Tenno design, and Tenno weapons don't have wear like this. And mind you - even with grineer weapons, you can usually "colour away" the worn paint because it's part of the colour mask.

I get the feedback but i feel like you guys are missing the point cause what you're calling edge wear it's actually the opposite. We've made the edge look more metallic than any other point on the sword evenly across the blade because that's how it looks when you have a coated weapon right after you sharpen it. I'll admit it's a bit rough cause in my mind it's not remotely realistic to have it pristine when you're actually hitting ♥♥♥♥ with a huge piece of metal lol. Also since it's pretty evenly thick across the blade and so reflective it will consistently give you a badass edge glare that i personally love :D

I hope i can make you think about it in another perspective with the explanation but i'll also thank you so much for liking the sword no matter the detail you don't agree with, it means so much to us :) thank you!

The problem is that you haven't made the underlying material tintable with any of the available colour mask channels. As a result, you've locked the unrerlying as "sword steel" regardless of what the end user might prefer. Obviously it's your design so you decide what the material actually is, but Warframe is weird enough where plastics, crystals and even flsh can be used as combat-capable, armour-piercing, edge-holding substances. I have a pair of swords with human teeth. Allowing players to match the colour of the edge with the colour of the blade would have solved this issue, since then players could just opt to hide the sharpening via colour choice.

I definitely like the overall design a lot and would pay money for it if it were in the game, edge or no edge. Well, depending on how large it is - I'd have to compare :) I just personally like to speak out against "wear and tear" whenever possible, at least as a mandatory only choice. Hell, one of the reasons I enjoyed Wildlands as much as I did was the ability to every so often repaint my guns and make them appear factory-fresh. Whenever I grab a weapon with obvious scratches and peeled paint on it, I try to hide that with colouring. Failing that, I either look for alternate skins or drop the weapon as I feel that makes it seem used and old.

Again - up to you, but letting players choose if they want to keep a silvery edge would be superior, I think.

I get your point, it's also one of the reason why most of my skins have very little wear and tear too but i'll have to find a middle point between none and just a little bit to make everyone happy. The reason why i didn't make it tintable it's cause since the blade is so big, if you choose a non neutral color for that edge it will look like your sword it's highlighted by the ui with a rim and it looks terrible. Also since there's a limited number of colors you can use one of those has to be sacrificed for the edge instead to have it available to customize the rest of the sword as much as you like without horrible consequences for any other part of the sword. I had to find a middleground so i've chosen to make the edge a light catcher with a neutral mirror like material for that 2% of the surface area.

Though i'm sorry it's bothering you but the only thing i can say is to give it a look once it reaches the game and see if you like the end result :)

Thank you for your feedback on the matter anyway, i'll have to keep it in mind in the future ;)

Honestly, Warframe spoils us with four colour channels. I'm an old-school City of Heroes player. We made do with two colour channels and we LIKED IT! :) Joking aside, I'd argue you could have sacrificed a colour channel for just the edge, or tied it to the colour of the other metallic parts. Then, if people pick a bright primary colour which give their weapon a glowing rim... Eh, their choice of colouring. Moot point, obviously, but still.

Although AS an old-school City of Heroes player, I'm always going to argue against untintable or pretinted textures. A number of DE's own items actually have this issue, such as Excalibur's untintable back and a lot of the legacy metallic pieces being tinted very dark. It's less of a problem here since we're not trying to colour-match boots against gloves against chest piece, but I'd personally always err on the side of consistent colouring and letting players pick their own tinting.

Either way, this is a really good look for a Heavy Blade. I'm more just arguing for the sake of discussion :)

Would it be possible to just have the blade edge use Color channel #3 so the blade could just be a solid color? All in all, the blade edge is just a minor gripe for me, the rest of the sword looks fantastic.

Well Its kind of odd using realism as the reason for aesthetics when were talking about a Scifi Game here with its own share of non realistic aspects...

But its your Tennogen project after all, do whatever you want with it...

Having an option would be great, i enjoy a weathered sword, but i also sometime like a clean look, I'm also a sucker for massive swords.

Reminder that with the new melee changes and energy appearances, you wouldn't see the wearing anyway as the edge will be covered in energy.

Unless you use a black energy color.

That would be boring tho.
