Vanilla Factions Expanded Question
So a little confused. Fairly new to Rimworld (Just completed my first playthrough) and want to get Vanilla Expanded going. Do I only use the expanded factions if I plan to play as those factions or can I add those factions into my playthrough to have them as allies or enemies?

Both.
VFE mods add in both new factions, and new player content (eg weapons, buildings, research)
