The rest are planned, and we are planning on a lot of similar things. Primary US SPAAG will be M42 Duster. PTS-59 or something similar for a tracked load carrier. And I do plan on eventually having some cool experimental things from the 50s and 60s, like T57 heavy tank, IS-7 etc.
The MT LB was adopted in the year 64 according to some sources and theres is the less know variant know as MT LBu, looks weird and cool at the same time. M 163 enter in service in 1968, also keep in mind the previous years of development of this units in their prototype o demostrators variants. Hell, the soviet 2S3 was in texts in the year 1968 or 1967.
About prototypes MBT 70 the firs model says it was produce in 1965 and of course they are other models, XM prototypes from USA or from the micv 65 program and of course the family of Objects of the Soviet Union from the 50 s and 60 s.
They are also a lot of less know or popular vehicles like the m 114, M 56 Scorpion, M 50 Ontos , M 88 recovery vehicle, M 264 Mule, LVTP 5, Larc V, M 76 Otter, M 118 Husky and XM 733, M 108 self propelled artillery, XM 104, M 55 and the heavies M 110 and M 107 howitzers.
For the Soviets you have the BRT 40 and 152 and the BTR 50, the PTS and K61 family of transports for rivers and water or even the copies of american vehicles like the BAV 485 and GAZ 46, prototypes like the Object 279, 530, Object 268 and even some old rusty vintages heavies or iconic tanks of the WW2 like the IS 2 and 3 or the tank destroyers SU 100 and ISU 152 or the less know post war SU 122 54 and the rocket artillery of models like the BM 24 M and T, BM 14 , BM 25 and even some Katyuska rocket launcher put in new trucks like Zil or Ural, i don t remember right now.
For the other countries like Czechoslovakia especially, they have a lot of interesting stuff, OT 62 and 64, M53 Praga, a copy and with some modifications of the german halftrack of the WW 2, RM 51 rocket launcher, VZ 58 rifle, VZ 52, Skorpion submachine gun, etc.
And for Asia if you include China don t forget about the both Koreas and Japan.
thats my man.
RE: M163, small numbers without radar trailed in vietnam in 68, rollout otherwise in 69. I'm not against it's inclusion. M42 was certainly on its way out in '68 as was M41A3 in US service for that matter.
I actually was unaware of M76 Otter, so, neato for that.
2S3 'in books' is a bit vague, all the data I have is development starting late 60's and rollout 1970 at the earliest. Likewise I have seen references to mid or late 60's MT-LB but I'm fairly convinced these refer to previous variants (that you mentioned) and the MT-LB as it continues to today in terms of actual rollout of significant numbers as opposed to developmental vehicles in early 70's, though I'm interested if you have a reliable russian language source saying otherwise. :)
I am not good for the links, put i prefer russian sources, they have more detailed info that english sources, hell , the info i can find in forums, websites, livejournals, wikias, books, etc is insane, they have lot of info even from the guys from other side of the iron courtain, some times just a ramdon photo and description is more that enougth to find some interesting info about the Cold War or any modern or less know conflict.
About prototypes i don t have any problems, this is a what if scenario just like games like World in Conflict, Wargame or Panzers Cold War, is just speculative or alternative timeline or fiction, remember all the crazy units from Wargame or the giant Ekranoplane from World in Conflict Soviet Assault even if mean only a non playable unit.
I will like to see also if possible some love from missile systems, not maybe the SAM s put sometime like the the Scub and Frog missiles launchers and of course their counter parts from the NATO.
M50, M56 and M114 are already planned.
Other vehicles are interesting but I'm not sure what kind of roll they would play.
As for Luna-M, it has ~200kg conventional explosive warhead, I'm not even sure the game supports explosions that size let alone has the assets to portray it visually. The visually largest explosion in the game currently is the 155mm howitzer shell. Luna rocket would be *considerably* larger. Like, the size of the entire screen.
MBT-70 is an interesting idea. I actually plan on having some prototypes available via the "Hero" tab, eventually, but those are low priority as we build the game up.
I personally don't want to have WW2-era tanks. I know the Soviets still used them up into the 70s but aesthetically I want to make this as post-WW2 as possible.
I really like SU-122-54. Would be a nice big brother for ASU-85. But, again, priority is for widely-used units.
We have a full list of units for 4 nations written up, if you're interested it me up on steam messenger.
