I can help to translate to spanish
I can offer to do the German translation. What do I have to do? Just edit the files in the German localization folder of your mod and change all English text to German?

Yes. Also, you might notice I haven't copied messages_l_english there. Make a copy of it too, okay?
If you search for #mod in it, you'll see where my changes start. I removed some lines from the battle results and made two shorter: "We lost:", "We killed:". Only this part, ending with #endmod, needs translation. The rest is the same, but I had to include the whole file.

Same as for Marty, translate what's in the spanish loc folder and copy messages there.
Send me your translations however is convenient to you: Google Drive, Dropbox, Mega, etc...
Hi Agamidae,

Actually I would already have a beta version available for German. But when I start I:R I can't see my translations in the mod stuff although my game is set to German. Any hint what I am doing wrong?

Localization files have to be in UTF-8-BOM encoding. If it somehow changed to UTF-8, I think the game wouldn't read it. Or maybe there's a typo somwhere? Check the error log in "Documents/Paradox Interactive/Imperator/logs/error.log"
You could send me the files, I'll take a look.
Ahhhh, found the problem. The files in the different language folders are not up to date at all! Seem to be older versions with much less text in it. So I need to copy over the English versions of all files before I do further work on translation...

oh no, better_ui_l_english has a lot of unnecessary lines that you don't need to bother with. What is in the german file should be all of my custom text. The rest was me trying to make tooltips shorter. I need to clean it up.
Also, I haven't moved everything to the localization folder from the gui files. I will eventually.

OK. I found the problem. Unfortunately I thought it would be a good idea to backup the old yml files into an "OLD" subfolder. But it seems the localization engine searches through subfolders. This created a totally confusing behaviour. So zipping the old files into a ZIP file helped. Obviously this is what was done in the Chinese translation as well.
Here we go with the German localization. Not thoroughly tested - so still Beta. And please have a look on the screenshots. There is some hard coded English text that cannot be changed in the localization files...

I have put an additional text file with translations into the OneDrive folder. I searched through all of your mod files for "text =" and tried to filter to what could be a candidate for localization...

one small issue I noticed (and fixed), in the console translation, you put hinzu between a text icon and an exclamation point. That breaks icons. They need to end with a !, like this: @stability!
