Guide
Basic Usage (same as B18)
  • Build a venue of some sort: Microphone, Piano, or Stage
  • The microphone requires no additional setup
  • The piano requires music to be written (at the piano itself) before it can be rehearsed / performed
  • The stage requires a play to be written (at the sculpting table) before it can be rehearsed / performed
  • If you wish to destroy low-quality music/plays, you can do so at a campfire or crematorium
  • If you build a Broadcaster, you can transmit your performances to nearby colonies (within 36 tiles)
  • Consistency (keeping the broadcaster powered) and Quality (good performances) will result in faction goodwill and "subscription payments" at the end of the season (do really bad, and they may hate you).

Performance "Schedule"
  • You must have at least 4 colonists
  • Performances can take place between 1pm and 9pm
  • It needs to be safe (map danger rating of 0)
  • The performer(s) must be alive - if one dies, you can select someone else and right click on the venue to replace the lead or support as needed
  • Each venue has a cooldown of 600 "rare ticks" (x250 ticks) = 150000 = 60 hours
  • Finally, it comes down to RNG: 10% chance every 250 ticks (about 6 minutes in-game)

Maximizing goodwill / payment gains
  • Write plays or compose music with pawns that have high Artistic skill
  • Perform using pawns with high Social skill (applies to all 3 types)
  • Set up bills to burn low-end plays/musical compositions at a campfire/crematorium, so they don't get used
  • Have multiple venues so you can increase performance frequency
  • Keep the broadcaster online as much as possible

How big is the radius for a performance? As in, Will Colonists in the same room 'see' the performances, or do you need a set area for them to watch it (like for example for the T.V)

Currently, it is "supposed" to be the entire room, however once the performance starts there is a chance that they watch / get the buff anywhere on the map (listed in the known bugs thread). Once it is fixed, it should be the room - much like parties / weddings (no "spot" needed to be placed, since it will be based around the venue itself).

how does the broadcaster work? do i need to have written my own composition or does rehearsing on a microphone work too?special positions needed?
